We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist with a strong emphasis on full-scope HR administration and compliance.
Job description
We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join us on a full-time, maternity cover assignment at our company of 110 employees. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle administration in a dynamic IT/tech environment with a strong emphasis on social security (TB), labour law and administrative compliance, ensuring our HR processes remain reliable and transparent. You will be part of a compact, yet efficient HR team consisting of 4 full-time colleagues plus 1 intern.
Key Responsibilities
Full-scope HR administration and compliance (primary focus)
Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle administration from entry to exit.
Prepare and maintain employment contracts, amendments, and official employer certificates.
Keep HR systems accurate and up to date; handle all status changes (promotions, team moves, etc.).
Administer annual leave, sick leave, collect and track medical certificates.
Manage benefit enrollment and execute periodic HR communications. Proactively monitor and implement changes in Hungarian labour law, social security (TB), and tax regulations.
Complete coordination of entry and exit processes
Own the administrative coordination of onboarding and offboarding.
Support onboarding days and follow up on individual onboarding plans.
Analyze results of onboarding engagement surveys.
Track maternity/parental leave processes (absence – return – re-onboarding).
Keep systems, Confluence pages, email distribution lists, and access rights up to date.
Recruitment support (periodic task, not primary focus)
Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment needs.
Write and publish job advertisements.
Manage ongoing candidate communication and interview scheduling.
Support the offer process and administrative onboarding steps.
Prepare periodic recruitment reports and manage satisfaction surveys.
HR projects and continuous improvement
Actively participate in HR projects and cross-functional workgroups.
Support the rollout, operation and optimization of our existing and future HRIS systems.
Prepare or proofread internal newsletters and communications.
Liaise with external partners.
Job requirements
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
Strong Hungarian HR administrative background: confident knowledge of labour law, social security (TB), and payroll basics.
Experience working in an IT / Tech / Software development environment is an advantage.
Recruitment experience with white-collar or IT positions.
Daily hands-on experience with HRIS systems, participation in system implementation or optimization is a significant advantage.
Skills and competencies
Confident knowledge of Hungarian labour law, social security (TB), and employee lifecycle administration.
Excellent documentation, contract administration, and data accuracy skills.
Strong awareness of GDPR and compliance requirements.
Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets.
Very good task management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
Clear and professional communication with employees and stakeholders.
Working knowledge of English (both written and spoken), fluency in Hungarian.
